The chemical composition of hard ferrite can be described by the consensus MO·nFe2O3 (where M is Ba and Sr), and the coefficient n can vary within the range of 4.5~6.5. Hard ferrite has a hexagonal structure with high uniaxial crystal anisotropy, but its magnetic saturation is relatively low. Magnetic properties can be improved by adding special additives.

Ceramic ferrite magnets include isotropic ferrite and anisotropic ferrite magnets. Typical chemical compositions are: SrFe12O19(SrM), BaFe12O19(BaM). Mainly used in electroacoustics, telecommunications instruments, meters, electric vacuum devices, microwave devices, micro motors, magnetic separation equipment, adsorption equipment, magnetic machinery and magnetic seals and other devices.
